IDF Raises Alert Level Across All Fronts Ahead of Yom Kippur

The IDF is raising its alert and operational readiness levels across all sectors ahead of Yom Kippur. Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has approved an extensive reinforcement plan designed to strengthen the existing force deployment throughout the country and along the borders.

As part of these preparations, a significant reinforcement of forces has been ordered in the Northern, Southern and Central commands through dedicated reinforcement companies, with a senior commander to be present in each sector throughout the holiday. Simultaneously, General Staff reserves have been designated with regional distribution, alongside reinforced reserve companies with the capability for immediate deployment to the various commands.

The Air Force, Navy and Home Front Command are also raising their readiness levels. The Air Force will operate at heightened alert with an increased number of armed aircraft throughout Yom Kippur, while the Navy has increased the number of missile ships deployed at sea and reinforced security vessels along the maritime borders. Home Front Command will have a duty brigadier general at headquarters and a duty district commander in each of the districts.

The IDF emphasizes that all these reinforcements are in addition to the routine operational deployment that operates both in routine and emergency situations in all areas of the country.
