Iran prepared detailed plans to attack undersea cables in Gulf if war resumes, officials tell Reuters
Two senior Iranian security officials told Reuters that Tehran has developed detailed plans to strike undersea communications cables in the Gulf region if the United States and Israel launch renewed attacks on Iran. The officials, speaking anonymously, did not specify exact methods or locations but indicated Iran would attempt to prevent repairs to prolong disruptions to communications and internet services. "If Iran is attacked, there will be no red lines; this will include everything from undersea cables to military bases, including secret ones," one official said, warning Washington against "playing with fire" and claiming Iran has full capability to access and destroy the cables.
