Iran rejects US-Gulf joint statement, warns on Strait of Hormuz passage
Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the joint statement issued by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Gulf state foreign ministers, calling it interference in internal affairs and irresponsible provocation. Tehran warned against continued hostile conduct in the region and stated that countries whose territory was used for aggression against Iran should reconsider their position. On the Strait of Hormuz, Iran declared that safe passage is not guaranteed by alternative routes or decisions made without Iranian input, stating any arrangement must be coordinated with Iran per Article 5 of the Memorandum of Understanding.
