Iranian Ambassador Walks Back Claims, Blames Media for Speculation

Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, abruptly walked back earlier claims and blamed the media for speculation. “During a phone call between the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan, Aliyev assured Pezeshkian that they would not allow their territory to be used for attacks against Iran. We have no official information that such an event occurred, and therefore cannot express a position based solely on media speculation,” Sobhani said.
