Iranian Chief of Staff warns against military action, threatens immediate response

Iranian Chief of Staff Ali Abdollahi issued warnings against opening a new campaign on Iran, stating Tehran is prepared for threats "of any kind and at any level." He warned Washington that any action against Iran, before or after congressional elections, would receive an immediate, powerful response against American interests without limitation. Abdollahi told Israel that two previous wars ended in failure, and a third opened through "miscalculation" would bring a harsher Iranian response. He also cautioned regional states hosting U.S. forces that "if a new war breaks out against Iran, its fire will sweep up everyone."
