Iranian General Saeed Izadi was killed overnight in Iran

Izadi was a key figure in Hamas' preparations for the October 7 massacre, maintaining close ties with senior Hamas officials through a series of coordination and briefing meetings over the two and a half years leading up to the attack—from 2021 (Operation Guardian of the Walls) through 2023. Izadi served as the main liaison between Hamas and Iran and coordinated all meetings between Hamas leaders abroad and Iranian officials, including with Supreme Leader Khamenei. This is explicitly stated in Hamas documents seized in Gaza. According to those seized documents, Izadi was aware of Hamas’ intent to attack Israel, though the exact date was not coordinated with him.
