Iraq orders closure of land border crossings with Iran

Iraq's Prime Minister has ordered the closure of the Al-Sheeb border crossing with Iran, effective Wednesday until further notice, without providing a reason for the decision. The crossing will be closed to both passenger and goods traffic. A gradual closure of several additional border crossings between Iraq and Iran is expected in the coming days, according to a government source cited by Al Jazeera.
