Iraq seeks Syria's help to export oil via Mediterranean, bypassing Hormuz Strait

Syria is expected to serve as a new export route for Iraqi crude oil, allowing shipments to avoid the Strait of Hormuz. Iraq has requested Syrian assistance to transport oil overland by truck to a Mediterranean port, expanding an existing route currently used for Iraqi fuel oil exports.
