Israeli broadcaster Ayala Hasson refuses to air after ultimatum over Bedouin remarks

Israeli broadcaster Ayala Hasson announced she will not host her program tonight after the head of news at the public broadcasting corporation gave her an ultimatum following controversial remarks about Bedouin society. Hasson says she was told to either read a dictated statement on air that "distorts my words and humiliates me," or be barred from hosting. She described the ultimatum as illegal and questioned whether it was connected to what she called a "politically motivated smear campaign" against her in recent days.
