Joint List condemns reported Shin Bet probe into Arab lawmakers, accuses Netanyahu of delegitimization
The Joint List strongly condemned reports that Shin Bet Director David Zini is attempting to launch investigations against Arab elected representatives. The party characterized the move as part of a campaign of incitement and delegitimization led by Likud against the Arab public and its political representation. In a statement, the Joint List said Netanyahu is "clinging to power" and trying to delegitimize Arab voters who turned out in large numbers against his government. The party accused Zini, appointed by Netanyahu, of acting as a political arm in his service. "We will not allow Netanyahu and Zini to turn the votes of hundreds of thousands of Arab citizens into a security threat or to treat their elected representatives as suspects," the statement said. The Joint List vowed to defend its right to influence the political future and work to replace Netanyahu's government.
