Journalist Avishai Grinzaig criticized the opposition and the opposition-aligned press on Tuesday, saying they handed Prime Minister Netanyahu "such a good gift" by their choice of focus in recent weeks.
In a post, he wrote that instead of dealing with what he called "the strategic failure of many years," the opposition and press "jumped headfirst into Shlomi Eldad's duck, and tried to pump it up for weeks."
He argued that the publication only helps Netanyahu with the line of "they didn't brief me." Grinzaig's criticism, he said, concerns the choice of what to focus on in public discourse. He claimed that the weeks-long focus on the publication diverted attention from the strategic failure, which he described as spanning years. He called the publication a "duck" and presented it as something that strengthens Netanyahu's line that he was not briefed.
