Kiryat Shmona Municipality: No Change in Security Situation

Kiryat Shmona municipal spokesperson issued a clarification on Tuesday evening, stressing that there has been no change in the security situation and that no instruction has been given by the IDF to open public shelters across the city. According to the statement, recent activity involving shelters has led to rumors circulating among residents. The municipality emphasized that these actions are part of routine preparedness drills regularly conducted by the local authority, which include the opening and closing of shelters. Officials noted that a similar drill took place earlier this week, as well as again today, and was not connected to any security escalation. “Life in Kiryat Shmona is continuing as normal,” the statement said, adding that residents will be immediately and clearly informed of any changes to security guidelines, as has been done consistently in the past.
