Another political departure

MK Leaves Gantz's Party Amid Tensions

Ron-Ben Moshe cites concerns over potential coalition splits as reason for departure from Blue and White Party

Knesset Member Yael Ron-Ben Moshe announced Tuesday that she is departing from Benny Gantz's Blue and White party.

In her statement, Ron-Ben Moshe said she informed Gantz earlier in the day of her final decision not to participate in the new political framework he is working to establish. She described the choice as one of the most difficult decisions of her life, made out of her commitment as a public representative, as a delegate for the northern confrontation line, and as a representative of working settlements, and expressed appreciation and gratitude toward Gantz.

Ron-Ben Moshe elaborated on her reasoning, stating that while the effort to create unity is highly commendable, in her view the current path and timing could prove not only futile but potentially harmful.

She identified what she called a major risk: a scenario in which some members of the new framework, whom she described as worthy individuals with considerable merit, might refuse to join a government that Gadi Eisenkot would seek to form in order to bring about the change the country needs. "This is, in my eyes, a very significant risk, and for me a glaring red line", she stated.
