Lebanese MP Gemayel rejects Iranian role in guaranteeing Lebanon's sovereignty
Nadim Gemayel, Lebanese parliament member from the Christian Kataeb Party, criticized statements by Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf that the US and Iran will guarantee Lebanon's unity and territorial integrity. "Who even gave Iran the right to speak on behalf of Lebanon?" Gemayel asked, stating that Lebanon's unity is not guaranteed by Tehran and its sovereignty is not a subject for negotiation between foreign countries. He questioned the purpose of Lebanon's participation in Washington negotiations if its fate is being discussed between Washington and Tehran.
