Lebanon: Israel Gets No Territory

Joseph Aoun addressed ongoing negotiations over ceasefire implementation and Hezbollah disarmament, pledging firm stance on territorial integrity.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun issued a defiant statement amid the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, providing an update on trilateral talks between Israel and Lebanon mediated by the United States.

Responding to domestic critics who oppose engaging in negotiations with Israel, Aoun defended the diplomatic process. "The negotiations are advancing, and in any case the outcome will be better than the consequences of a destructive war for Lebanon. Since the framework agreement was signed, the scope of Israeli attacks on Lebanon has decreased," the president explained.

In his most forceful declaration yet, Aoun drew a hard line on territorial sovereignty, stating: "We will not allow Israel to remain even one centimeter on our land."
