The Likud party has sent a pre-litigation warning letter to AID Coalition, the nonprofit organization behind the "Fly & Vote" initiative, according to a report by Ynet. The program offers subsidized airfare to help Israelis living abroad return home to cast their ballots in upcoming elections.
In its letter, Likud alleges that the initiative constitutes electoral bribery and violates Israel's political party financing laws. The organization has rejected these claims, maintaining that "Fly & Vote" is a nonpartisan project that does not screen participants for their political preferences. According to AID Coalition, because they do not inquire about voters' political leanings, the program cannot be considered vote-buying or bribery.
