A bodyguard assigned to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's protection detail drew a long weapon and aimed it at a target during what was described as a routine motorcade movement through Tel Aviv last Thursday, journalist Michael Shemesh reported Monday.

Shin Bet says bodyguard's actions during routine convoy last Thursday followed protocol and posed no danger to civilians
The incident comes amid controversy surrounding Shin Bet chief Roman Gofman. The dispute erupted after Judge Noam Solberg, chairman of the Central Elections Committee, addressed the security arrangements for Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Israel Resilience party. Solberg stated that Gofman holds authority over Eisenkot's security protection.
In response, the Shin Bet clarified: "The decision not to provide security for Mr. Eisenkot was made by the head of the Shin Bet, who bears sole responsibility for this matter. Before reaching a decision on the issue, the service chief held a series of consultations with professional officials, including the honorable Judge Solberg."
