Eisenkot: Channel 14 report "absolute lie"

After Channel 14 claimed he was negotiating with foreign actors on Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon, the former IDF chief's party demands immediate retraction and public apology

Gadi Eisenkot

Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party has issued an unusually sharp response to Channel 14 and Kol Chai Radio political correspondent Shlomo Rizel following a report broadcast on the "Israel This Morning" program. The report claimed Eisenkot was conducting negotiations with foreign actors regarding an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.

"The report published by Shlomo Rizel on Channel 14 is an absolute lie, devoid of any factual basis, which never was and never happened," the party stated in an official response. Sources close to the party chairman made clear they have no intention of letting the matter pass.

"Atomic Pressure Ahead of Government Change"

The party demanded immediate and unequivocal action from both the channel and the correspondent: "We demand that Channel 14 immediately remove the false report, and that Shlomo Rizel publish a public, clear and unequivocal apology for spreading lies. We will not settle for explanations or evasions — we demand immediate deletion of the false publication and an explicit apology."

Yashar added: "Channel 14 is under atomic pressure. As the possibility of replacing the October 7th government draws closer, its lie and propaganda machine is working overtime. The channel, which has become Netanyahu's propaganda mouthpiece, is spreading baseless lies just like its boss, in a desperate attempt to sow fear, divide and thwart the establishment of a new government in Israel. No campaign of lies by Netanyahu and his emissaries will change the public's decision."
