State Department investigating U.S. Ambassador to Greece over alleged improper gifts

The State Department's inspector general is investigating whether U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle accepted improper gifts or favors. An audio recording from Davos in January captured Guilfoyle describing a private jet flight with Aktor Group CEO Alexandros Exarchou, whose business interests she had promoted to foreign governments, and travel with shipping magnate Nikolas Tsakos, who reportedly covered her stay at a luxury Paris hotel. Trump administration officials are discussing her possible removal.
