Pindrus: UTJ Outside Netanyahu Bloc

United Torah Judaism MK Yitzhak Pindrus said his party is not part of Netanyahu's bloc and has not decided how it would vote on a government led by Gadi Eisenkot.

Gadi Eisenkot

United Torah Judaism is not part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc, MK Yitzhak Pindrus declared in remarks reported by Amit Segal. Pindrus added that the chareidi party has not decided how it would vote on a government headed by Gadi Eisenkot if one were formed.

Pindrus stressed that UTJ's lawmakers will act as a single unit on the question, he said. Every member of the party will cast the same vote.

Israel goes to the polls on October 27.

A Channel 16 poll conducted by the Maagar Mochot research institute and released at the end of September gave the coalition bloc 53 seats against 51 for the opposition bloc led by Eisenkot. In that survey, Eisenkot's Yashar party led with 21 seats and Likud followed with 19. United Torah Judaism stood at 7 seats, and the chareidi parties together reached 15.

A Direct Polls survey for i24NEWS published on October 9 found the bloc deadlock holding for a fifth consecutive week. Yashar fell to 20 seats in that poll, the party's lowest figure in three months.

On September 27, the Central Elections Committee, the body that approved the 38 party lists running in the election, confirmed that United Torah Judaism will again appear on the ballot under the letter Gimel.
