Sudanese cleric calls for jihad against RSF, rejects peace talks in El Obeid sermon
Sheikh El Tayeb Mohamed Ahmed delivered a sermon at the Great Mosque in El Obeid calling for jihad against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), appearing in a Sudanese Armed Forces uniform while carrying a Kalashnikov. The cleric invoked rhetoric from historical Islamic battles, declaring that Sudanese people were "thirsty to drink the blood" of the RSF. He rejected peace negotiations, urged Sudan's military leadership to retake El Geneina in Darfur, and stated that "terrorism must be confronted with terrorism." Both the SAF and RSF have been accused of committing serious atrocities against civilians during Sudan's ongoing civil war.
