The U.S. Navy broke nearly a month of silence with a missile and fighter jet assault on Iran's Larak Island, prompting Iranian authorities to report casualties and vow a forceful response. According to the Fars News Agency, which maintains close ties to the Iranian regime, at least two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in the American strike targeting missile facilities on the island located off Iran's southern coast. Additional personnel were wounded, though their conditions have not been disclosed. The Revolutionary Guards issued a swift official statement addressing the attack, declaring their intention to respond with force. "There will be a response to this incident, and the aggressor who opened this door will be punished severely," the IRGC statement warned.
