Iran-US Tensions

US Strikes Iranian Forces After Month Lull

After nearly 30 days of avoiding direct military confrontation while focusing on economic pressure, American warplanes attack Iranian positions in the Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump

American fighter jets have carried out strikes against Iranian regime forces on an island in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the first direct US military action on Iranian territory in nearly a month. The attacks come after President Trump had shifted toward economic warfare and a strategy of choking the regime rather than direct military engagement.

Iranian authorities confirmed the strikes following reports of heavy explosions in southern Iran and the Hormuz Strait area. According to Iranian media channels, US Navy aircraft targeted missile launchers and military personnel stationed on Larak Island, located off Iran's southern coast in the strategic waterway.

The American operation followed an earlier Iranian attack in which Tehran fired ballistic missiles at a vessel attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz through the southern passage operated by US forces in the region.

Iranian media outlets reported multiple strikes on the island, with casualties among the forces stationed there, including both dead and wounded.
