IDF Chief of Staff approves continued operations in Lebanon security zone
IDF Chief of the General Staff LTG Eyal Zamir visited Northern Command and approved plans for continued operations in the security zone under the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon. Zamir called the agreement "historic and significant," stating that IDF military achievements created the conditions that made it possible. He emphasized that the Northern Command is now the IDF's main operational focus and that forces are prepared to rapidly resume offensive operations in Lebanon and Iran if required. Zamir conducted a situational assessment with commanders from the 36th Division and Commando Brigade, which maintain operational control in the Beaufort Ridge area.
