US Treasury Secretary Bessent challenges Iran over oil exports, claims no crude loaded since August
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent responded to Iran's resigning oil minister with a pointed challenge, claiming Iran has not loaded a single barrel of crude oil onto vessels since August 25. "Iran has a new oil minister. Considering that Iran has not loaded even a single barrel of crude oil onto a vessel since August 25, what exactly does the oil minister have to manage?" Bessent stated. The remarks come after Iran's outgoing oil minister denied any connection between his resignation and President Trump's claims, insisting that Iran's oil production and exports continued despite sanctions.
