US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Monday unveiled the full details of what President Donald Trump has termed an "economic D-Day" against Iran. The comprehensive sanctions package targets approximately 60 entities, individuals, and vessels connected to Iran, focusing on five critical sectors: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping.
"The clock is ticking," Bessent declared in a strongly worded statement, outlining what he described as an unprecedented financial offensive. According to the Treasury chief, the sanctions aim to dismantle an extensive network of front companies and shadow fleet vessels operating across the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Switzerland, and Europe.
