In an unusual incident, the electronic clock that was placed in Iran and counted down the time until "Israel's destruction" has stopped working. The official reason for the clock's stoppage, according to reports in Iran, is a malfunction caused by a power outage.

This incident occurs against the backdrop of a period of sharp escalation in threats from Tehran. Just recently, senior officials in the Revolutionary Guards expressed themselves in an unusual and public manner. Amir Hayyat, a senior commander in the organization, threatened for the first time with a direct missile attack on countries in Europe and the United States, citing major cities as possible targets.

This threat joined a previous statement by Yahya Rahim Safavi, an advisor to Iran's leader, who said that the current situation vis-à-vis Israel is not a ceasefire, but a "temporary cessation of war." According to him, a "new war" may break out soon, and it will be the final war.

The clock, which served as a clear symbol of Iran's declared intention, has stopped working as mentioned due to a technical malfunction.

Iran is still reeling from the Israeli and American air strikes on their nuclear weapons sites and ballistic missile factories and storage locations. Mysterious explosions continue to rip through fuel and other vital sites in the country.

Meanwhile, the country is literally running out of water in many places, as fuel shortages continue, inflation runs rampant, unemployment has hit over 50%, and medical supplies are in danger of running out.

Despite this, Iran has signaled that it is in no hurry to negotiate with the United States or do anything to prevent a renewal of UN snapback sanctions which could further cripple the country's economy.
