The Next Strike on Iran Will Last for Weeks

Not a Surgical Strike: Why the Coming War with Iran Will Be a Total Confrontation

Military sources warn that a looming American and Israeli operation against Iran will be a prolonged, large scale war intended to permanently dismantle the regime's nuclear and military infrastructure.

The military landscape in the Middle East is shifting toward a state of total war as the United States and Israel prepare for an operation far more expansive than any previous engagement. According to reports from Axios and military analysts, the Trump administration is nearing the point of issuing a command for a campaign that would span several weeks and involve the systematic destruction of Iran's strategic assets. This is not expected to be a pinpoint strike but a comprehensive war that many Americans do not yet fully realize is on the horizon. As an unprecedented "armada" of aircraft carriers, stealth fighters, and air defense systems completes its arrival in the region, the postponement of the Israeli security cabinet meeting suggests that the final operational plans are being synchronized for a joint strike.

A Campaign of Unprecedented Scale

The upcoming campaign is described as being significantly broader than the "Am Lavi" operation conducted last year. While that mission focused on specific underground nuclear targets, the current planning involves a "total war" scenario. Sources familiar with the details indicate that the objective is not just to freeze the nuclear program but to eliminate the regime’s ability to project power entirely. This would include strikes on ballistic missile bases, command centers, and the economic infrastructure that supports the "Axis of Resistance."

In just the last 48 hours, the American military presence has surged. Over 150 military cargo flights have ferried tons of munitions and equipment to regional bases, accompanied by 50 advanced combat jets, including F-35s and F-22s. The naval component is equally massive, with 12 warships currently active, including the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group in the Sea of Oman and the USS Gerald R. Ford nearing the area. The USS Pinckney has also been moved into the CENTCOM area of responsibility, completing a maritime ring around the Iranian coast.

The Timing of the "Green Light"

While Senator Lindsey Graham has suggested that strikes might still be weeks away, other advisors to the President believe the timeline could be much shorter. One advisor noted that there is a "90 percent chance" of military action in the very near future, as the President is increasingly frustrated by Iranian stalling tactics. The Israeli government is reportedly pushing for a "maximalist" scenario that includes regime change and the total destruction of the Iranian missile fleet.

The military buildup is designed to ensure that when the order is given, the response is overwhelming and leaves no room for Iranian retaliation. US officials have made it clear that they do not view this massive deployment as a bluff. Instead, they are preparing for the most significant American military intervention in the Middle East in over ten years. With the "armada" nearly in place and intelligence indicating that Iran is frantically burying its remaining assets, the region is bracing for a war that will likely define the next several years of global geopolitics.
