Nearly three years after the untimely passing of Friends star Matthew Perry, fans and collectors will have a rare opportunity to bid on the actor’s personal belongings. Heritage Auctions announced on Wednesday that a special auction of Perry’s estate will take place on June 5, 2026, with proceeds dedicated to combating the stigma surrounding addiction.
The auction will be held at the Heritage Auctions showroom in Dallas, while simultaneously opening for online bids from around the globe. For those wishing to view the collection in person, a preview exhibition will be hosted in Beverly Hills from May 18 to May 29.
A Glimpse into Perry’s World
The curated selection of items offers a unique look at Perry’s personal tastes and his legendary career. Highlights of the auction include:
- Fine Art: High-profile works by artists Mel Bochner and the elusive Banksy. One of the Banksy pieces is estimated to be worth over $800,000.
- Original Scripts: Rare, original teleplays that accompanied Perry during his many years on television.
- Personal Memorabilia: Various items and artworks that once decorated the actor’s private residence.
Legacy of Compassion
The net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Matthew Perry Foundation, which was established shortly after his death in October 2023.
Perry was famously candid about his lifelong struggles with substance abuse, having noted in his memoir that he sought treatment 15 times throughout his life. His final vision was to promote compassion-based treatment and to dismantle the social shame often attached to addiction. Through this auction, Perry’s personal memories and art collection are being mobilized to fund hope and support for others facing similar battles.
