After the intense weeks surrounding his Eurovision run, Israeli singer Noam Bettan flew to Italy for a much-needed break, but the vacation took an unexpected turn when he injured his foot.

Bettan, who recently represented Israel at Eurovision and finished second, traveled to Rome and Tuscany for a short rest after the competition, media appearances and public attention that followed his performance. The trip appeared to be planned as a quiet reset after one of the busiest periods of his career.

Instead, Bettan updated his followers overnight on Instagram that he had sprained his foot during the vacation. He posted a photo from the trip showing himself smiling while holding crutches.

“Yes, I managed to sprain my foot on vacation,” he wrote, before quickly reassuring worried fans.

“But don’t worry, I got treatment and everything is fine, thank God. Next week we’re back at full strength for shows and preparations,” Bettan added.

The injury appears to be minor, and Bettan made clear that he does not expect it to disrupt his upcoming schedule. Despite the inconvenience of moving around Italy on crutches, especially through old city streets and uneven stone pavements, he seemed to be in good spirits.

The incident came shortly after Bettan’s Eurovision success turned him into one of the most talked-about Israeli performers of the season. His second-place finish gave Israel a major showing on the European stage and brought him a wave of attention at home.

Now, after a brief and slightly limping pause abroad, Bettan is expected to return next week to performances and preparations for his next professional steps.
