A former top Israeli communications official has filed a bombshell $2.7 million lawsuit against senior law enforcement officials, claiming he was subjected to torture and sexual assault before signing a key state witness agreement in a major corruption case involving Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Shlomo Filber, who served as Director General of Israel's Communications Ministry and was a key figure in the Likud party, alleges he endured 60 hours of systematic abuse, including sleep deprivation and sexual assault, before agreeing to testify in Case 4000.

Background:

Case 4000, also known as the Bezeq-Walla affair, centers on allegations that Netanyahu granted regulatory favors to Bezeq, Israel's largest telecommunications company, in exchange for positive coverage on the Walla news website. As Communications Ministry Director-General, Filber was positioned at the heart of these regulatory decisions.

The Allegations:

The lawsuit names several high-ranking officials, including:

- Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit

- Former State Prosecutor Shai Nitzan

- Senior prosecutors Liat Ben Ari and Yehudit Tirosh

In court documents filed Friday, Filber's legal team detailed a disturbing "prison inmate experience" allegedly orchestrated by law enforcement. The abuse included overnight transfers between multiple prisons under false pretenses, culminating in what the lawsuit describes as a sexual assault at Hadarim Prison at 2 AM, with prison staff allegedly present.

"They subjected our client to over 50 hours of near-continuous wakefulness, harsh conditions, and ultimately sexual abuse - all to force him to sign their agreement," said attorneys Lior Shavit and Itai Roth, who represent Filber.

Broader Implications:

This development could significantly impact Case 4000, where Filber's testimony has been central to the prosecution's case against Netanyahu.

The Israeli Justice Ministry has not yet responded to requests for comment on these allegations.
