Outrage over fuel transfer to Gaza: Was it a military or political decision?

Following confirmed reports that a large amount of fuel was allowed into the Gaza Strip during a siege, the government and the army are blaming each other for the decision.

Although Israel is formally imposing a blockade of aid on the Gaza Strip in order to pressure Hamas, two trucks of fuel with tens of thousands of liters were allowed in last week. Now the government and the IDF are blaming each other.

According to Channel 14 reporter Hallel Biton Rosen, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz claim that the IDF lied to them and allowed the fuel in without their approval. For their part, the IDF claims that the fuel was allowed in with government approval.

The question of aid to the Gaza Strip is a fraught one, as Israel does not want to send in aid in a way that would allow Hamas to steal it for their personnel, especially their terrorists, or resell it to remain financially afloat.
