12 Idiots and a Boat

Meet the 12 Activists Behind the Gaza Flotilla Stunt: From Greta to Hezbollah Fans

A group of international activists, including high-profile figures, embarked on a flotilla to Gaza with minimal aid, aiming to challenge Israel’s blockade in a move criticized as a publicity stunt. Their reckless voyage into a Hamas-controlled warzone risks escalating tensions while ignoring the conflict’s deadly realities.

On June 1, 2025, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s vessel Madleen set sail from Catania, Sicily, with 12 activists intent on breaching into Gaza, carrying a paltry 20 tonnes of minimal aid; mostly milk and protein bars. This ill-conceived stunt, led by figures like Greta Thunberg, Rima Hassan, and Liam Cunningham, masquerades as “pro-Palestinian” activism but trivializes a deadly conflict zone controlled by Hamas terrorists. Ignoring the 1,200 lives lost in Hamas’s attack and the 55 hostages still held, these activists endanger themselves and regional stability, chasing viral fame during war. Their minimal aid, dwarfed by 26,000 tonnes stalled at Rafah due to Hamas’s obstruction, exposes the hollowness of their trendy posturing.

Here are the profiles of the activists aboard:

Israel, on alert after thwarting a May flotilla, warned it is “prepared to act accordingly.” As Hamas executes Gaza protesters demanding peace, this group’s performative voyage, echoing Thunberg’s photo-ops in Palestinian regalia, risks escalation while offering no real aid, proving their activism is more about headlines than helping Gaza’s 2 million residents.
