BREAKING: Ramming attack in Gush Eztion

A driver tried to ram a group of Israelis. A policeman shot at the driver, who escaped.

Israeli security forces have declared a "patish cham" (active terrorist attack) following an incident at the Elazar Checkpoint in Gush Etzion.

A person driving a white Skoda Octavia accelerated toward a group of Israelis at the Elazar Junction. A police officer on the scene responded by opening fire at the vehicle.

The driver fled toward northern Israel. Police are currently pursuing the driver.

No injuries have been reported from the incident.

The IDF has imposed a security closure on Palestinian villages in the area, including the city of Bethlehem, following the attempted attack.
