Rocket Fire on Haifa: Northern Israel Targeted After New IDF Wave in Lebanon
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly stated that there is no ceasefire in Lebanon, promising that Israel will continue to strike Hezbollah with full force until security is restored.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern message to the residents of northern Israel on Thursday evening, clarifying that the current diplomatic maneuvers do not mean an end to military action. "I want to tell you: there is no ceasefire in Lebanon," Netanyahu stated, emphasizing that the IDF will continue to strike Hezbollah with immense power. This declaration comes as the IDF launched a major operation titled "Eternal Darkness," which included a coordinated strike against approximately 100 Hezbollah headquarters and military facilities throughout Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon. The Prime Minister argued that Israel’s recent achievements against the Iranian axis have placed the country in a position of historic strength, allowing for a strategy of "peace through power."
Escalation and the Path to Peace
Despite the talk of direct negotiations with the Lebanese government, the reality on the ground remains one of intense combat. Following the latest wave of IDF strikes, Hezbollah launched a barrage of rockets toward Haifa, Acre, and Nahariya, forcing thousands of civilians into shelters. The IDF had previously warned of potential fire toward a wider range of northern areas and urged the public to remain vigilant and follow Home Front Command instructions. "We will not stop until we return your security," Netanyahu promised, noting that he has instructed the cabinet to open direct peace talks with Lebanon specifically to achieve the disarmament of Hezbollah and a sustainable peace agreement.
The IDF’s latest offensive targets were carefully planned over several weeks, focusing on the heart of Hezbollah’s command structure, including the emergency headquarters of the group's leader, Naim Qassem. Military officials noted that many of these infrastructures were embedded within civilian populations, used by the terrorists as human shields. As the IAF continues its operations, the Israeli leadership is betting on a dual track approach, using unprecedented military pressure to force a diplomatic outcome. Netanyahu concluded by stating that while Iran is weaker than ever, Israel is stronger, and he intends to bring further peace agreements to the region, but only from a position of absolute military dominance.
