Military Exercise

IDF Drill Set for Golan Heights Wednesday

Residents can expect sounds of gunfire and explosions during planned exercise, while forces continue dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces announced Tuesday evening that a military training exercise will take place Wednesday morning in the Golan Heights region.

Residents in the area should anticipate increased movement of security forces along with sounds of gunfire and explosions during the drill, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. The exercise was scheduled in advance as part of the military's 2026 training program.

The announcement comes as Israeli troops continue operations in southern Lebanon to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure south of the Litani River, following the ceasefire agreement. Israeli forces are working systematically to destroy terror facilities and degrade the organization's operational capabilities through ongoing coordination between the Israeli government and Lebanese authorities.

Earlier Tuesday, the IDF reported that combat teams from the 769th, 4th, and 55th brigades are continuing operations under the command of Division 91 in the security zone in southern Lebanon, working to clear the area of terror infrastructure and destroy combat equipment.

During their operations, forces have located and seized various weapons and equipment, including anti-tank guided missiles, rocket launchers, launch systems, grenades, explosive devices, Kalashnikov rifles, tactical vests, uniforms, and helmets.
