October 7th all over again

"No More Assumptions": IDF Preparing for Hezbollah Infiltration "At Any Moment"

"Like it could happen every minute": The IDF surges forces to the North to prevent a Radwan Force infiltration. Applying the lessons of October 7, the security cabinet orders a "zero risk" policy even as troops operate deep in Lebanon.

In a shift of doctrine following the catastrophic failures of October 7, the Israeli political and military leadership has issued a directive: Zero complacency. Despite the fact that the IDF has already breached the border and established positions at several strategic points in Southern Lebanon, intelligence indicates that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is actively pushing Hezbollah to launch a counter-invasion.

The security establishment is no longer assuming that the presence of IDF troops inside Lebanon acts as a total deterrent. Instead, they are preparing for a scenario where Radwan Force squads attempt to bypass frontline Israeli units to strike Northern Israeli communities.

"We are preparing as if it could happen at any minute," military sources stated. This "October 7 Lesson" means the IDF is treating the threat of even a small, single-squad infiltration with the same gravity as a full-scale invasion.

Following the political echelon's directive to "not take any risks," the IDF is currently increasing its Order of Battle (ORBAT) in two critical zones:

1. Inside Lebanon: Expanding the number of "points of friction" to intercept Radwan commandos before they can maneuver toward the border.

2. The Northern Envelope: Heavily reinforcing the perimeter of Israeli border towns to provide a final, impenetrable layer of defense.

While analysts suggest the chances of a large-scale Hezbollah invasion are "small" given the current IDF deployment, the concern remains that a small, highly trained cell could attempt a localized "kidnap or kill" mission. The instruction to the troops is clear: Do not take it for granted that because the IDF is 'there' (in Lebanon), a breach won't happen.
