The IDF Spokesperson announced a short while ago that a soldier from Battalion 931 of the Nahal Brigade was seriously injured last night (Saturday) in the northern Gaza Strip during a brawl that developed with another soldier, during which he was struck on the head with the butt of a rifle.

An argument broke out between two good friends in the unit about who helps more and gives more for the platoon. One of the fighters struck his friend with fists, and the other hit him with a kettle that he had in his hand. The fighter lost consciousness and was evacuated by helicopter. This morning his condition stabilized and he was removed from intensive care and regained full consciousness.

Following the incident, an investigation by the military police has been opened, and at its conclusion, the findings will be submitted for review by the military prosecution. The soldier was evacuated to the hospital and his family has been informed.
