Details have been cleared for publication regarding a severe security incident on the Lebanese border that resulted in the deaths of two IDF Combat Engineering Corps soldiers.

The event took place this morning during activities at "Magen Tzivoni," one of the IDF's five forward outposts in the Manara-Misgav Am sector.

The sequence of events began when a "Puma" armored engineering vehicle from the 601st Battalion became stuck in the terrain. A rescue force, led by a company commander and accompanied by a D9 armored bulldozer, arrived at the scene to extract the vehicle.

During the rescue operation, terrorists fired an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) or a mortar shell at the force. The D9 was hit directly, resulting in the deaths of both operators on board.

These are the first two IDF fatalities of Operation Roaring Lion. Their deaths come amid a significant increase in the volume of fire from Hezbollah toward IDF troops along the border, as well as toward the Haifa Bay area.

The incident follows several days of heavy casualties on the northern front:

* Thursday: Two soldiers seriously injured by an anti-tank missile.

* Friday: Eight soldiers injured, three seriously, by a mortar strike on the Zar'it outpost.

* Saturday: Two soldiers moderately injured by anti-tank fire.

IDF Strikes and the Financial Collapse of Hezbollah

In response to the ongoing attacks, the IDF has eliminated approximately 200 Hezbollah terrorists to date in both Beirut and Southern Lebanon.

Recent significant operations include:

* Ramada Hotel Strike: Yesterday, the IDF eliminated five members of the IRGC's "Lebanon Corps" hiding in a Beirut hotel. Among the dead were the heads of the Intelligence and Finance branches of the Lebanon Corps.

* Economic Pressure: These targeted killings are part of a broader strategy to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure, particularly as reports indicate the organization is facing a critical cash shortage and is struggling to pay its operatives.
