The Israeli military is preparing the public for a prolonged period of high-intensity combat, with IDF Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin stating that the war against the Iranian regime and Hezbollah is expected to continue for weeks. During a press briefing, Defrin emphasized that the Israeli Defense Forces are working without pause inside Iranian territory, having already deployed more than 10,000 munitions against strategic targets. According to the IDF, this relentless pressure is successfully destabilizing the regime, though the military acknowledges that the threat remains active and the campaign requires more time to achieve its final objectives.

Destabilizing the Regime

The IDF’s assessment is that the Iranian leadership is currently "undermined" by the scale of the Israeli response. Despite the barrage of missiles launched toward Israel during the night, Defrin dismissed these as "not new" threats, noting that such attacks were expected as part of the ongoing operations. The military's focus remains on dismantling the command and control structures of the Islamic Republic while simultaneously neutralizing the threat from Hezbollah in the north. The spokesperson made it clear that the current level of military activity will be maintained as long as necessary to ensure that the Iranian threat is permanently diminished.

This long-term outlook aligns with recent operational shifts that prioritize the total destruction of the Iranian military infrastructure over a quick, symbolic victory. By signaling that the war will take weeks, the IDF is managing expectations for both the Israeli home front and international allies. The military believes that the sheer volume of firepower being used, averaging thousands of strikes, will eventually lead to a breaking point for the Iranian government. For now, the focus remains on constant operations to ensure that neither Tehran nor its proxies have the breathing room to reorganize or launch a effective counter-offensive.
