Ten Israelis Arrested After Crossing Into Gaza
The activists, prevented from entering the enclave by the IDF, were transferred to police custody as authorities probe their intentions.

Ten Israeli citizens were arrested on Thursday morning after attempting to cross into the Gaza Strip the previous day. The group, identified as right-wing activists, sought to enter the territory to raise awareness about plans for a renewed Jewish settlement on the site of the former Nitzanim community.
IDF forces in the area intercepted them before they could enter Gaza and returned them to Israeli territory. They were then handed over to the Israel Police for further processing.
“The civilians were under constant surveillance, and the forces on site acted quickly to prevent their entry into a combat zone,” the IDF spokesperson said. “Entering the area is strictly prohibited, endangers lives, and interferes with IDF operations.”
The arrested activists are expected to appear in Ashkelon Magistrate’s Court later today.
The attempted crossing comes in the wake of a recent Knesset-led conference outlining a detailed plan for Jewish resettlement in Gaza. Organized by MK Limor Son Har Melech (Otzma Yehudit), MK Tzvi Sukkot (Religious Zionism), and the Nahala movement, the event gathered ministers, security officials, bereaved families, and research institutes to present a comprehensive plan.
The proposed initiative includes integrating Gaza as part of the Western Negev, developing infrastructure, housing for hundreds of thousands, agriculture, industry, and transport hubs, along with an artificial island for commerce and tourism. The plan’s architects envision implementing the project over 15 years, beginning with clearing ruins and constructing infrastructure within three years.
