Operation “Rising Lion”
Revealed: The Song Netanyahu Whistled Just Hours Before the Tehran Strike
Dr. Berkovitz describes a calm, almost surreal encounter with Israel’s Prime Minister just hours before the nation launched its most significant military strike in decades.

On Thursday evening, just hours before Israel launched its most far-reaching military operation in recent memory, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Berkovitz, made a routine visit that turned into a quietly historic moment.
In an interview with Romanian television, Dr. Berkovitz shared rare insights into the Prime Minister’s condition — and mood — ahead of the launch of Operation Rising Lion.
“He had lost his voice. I came to his office for a follow-up,” the doctor recalled. “I checked his blood pressure — it was excellent. His lungs were clear. Pulse, perfect.”
Dr. Berkovitz told Netanyahu it was nothing more than an inflammation of the vocal cords. “He was relieved,” he said, “and then I suddenly heard him whistle. It took me a moment to realize — it was a Sinatra tune. I think it was New York, New York.”
What struck Berkovitz most was the Prime Minister’s calm demeanor.
“I’ve been with him for 31 years,” he said, “and I’ve never heard him whistle before. He was in a light, even elevated mood.”
Then, unexpectedly, Netanyahu whistled My Way.
“I was stunned,” Berkovitz added. “The rendition was actually fantastic.”
Only hours later, Israel would begin its strategic strikes on Tehran, Sana’a, and other key points across the region. But in that brief, almost cinematic moment, the man at the center of the storm seemed at peace.
