IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has moved to quell rumors regarding the suspension of the 941st Battalion of the Kfir Brigade. Following a meeting with Lt. Col. (Res.) Yossi Levi, CEO of the Netzah Yehuda Association, the military head clarified that the unit remains one of the IDF’s most outstanding and leading battalions.

Operational Continuity

The clarification comes after reports surfaced that the entire battalion had been "suspended" during the ongoing conflict with Iran. Lt. Gen. Zamir emphasized that the reserve soldiers are not being dismissed from service. Instead, they will continue their regular duties following a period of specialized training and rest, preparing for an upcoming extended operational deployment.

In the interim, the 941st Battalion will serve as a high-readiness reserve force, prepared to respond to any unforeseen security escalations within the Judea and Samaria Division.

The Tyasir Incident

The controversy stems from a recent confrontation near the village of Tyasir in Samaria. A military force from the battalion reportedly removed a CNN film crew that was documenting an attempt by settlers to establish a presence on Palestinian-claimed land.

The CNN team recorded the encounter, alleging that the soldiers used physical violence against them. While the incident drew sharp criticism from international media and some Israeli security officials, the IDF Chief of Staff noted:

Focus on Excellence

By reaffirming the battalion's status, the IDF leadership aims to maintain morale among religious combat soldiers who make up the backbone of the Netzah Yehuda track. As the "Lion’s Roar" campaign continues, the military is prioritizing the retention of experienced combat units like the 941st to ensure stability across all sectors.
