Approximately 600 soldiers serving in the Kodkod track participated Thursday in a special yeshiva study day organized to mark the Hebrew month of Elul, the period of spiritual preparation before the High Holidays.
The Kodkod program is designed to enable haredi (ultra-Orthodox) men to serve in the Israel Defense Forces while maintaining their religious lifestyle. Participants receive professional training in technology fields while performing meaningful military service.
Since the outbreak of the current war, Kodkod soldiers have been actively contributing to Israel's defense through operational technology work.
During Thursday's event, the soldiers prayed together, participated in Torah study sessions, and engaged in discussions with rabbis. Such study days are part of a tailored framework created for haredi soldiers in dedicated IDF tracks, allowing them to integrate Torah learning with substantive military service.
