During the murderous attack in the Gaza Strip envelope and southern cities, terrorists from the Hamas terrorist organization fired on ambulances, murdered drivers and paramedics, and prevented them from providing medical treatment to the wounded.
On the first day of the "Swords of Iron" war, during the Hamas attack on the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip and the cities of the south, the terrorists also shot at the sides, wheels and windshields of the Magen David Adom ambulance at Kisufim.
The terrorists hit the ambulance in order to disable it and prevent the MDA medics and paramedics from providing medical aid to the injured and evacuating them to the hospitals.
Since the beginning of the "Swords of Iron" war, three MDA employees and volunteers have been murdered - the late Aharon Haimov, who was shot while driving an MDA ambulance, on his way to treat the wounded who fought heroic battles in Ofakim against dozens of terrorists.
Two other victims are Amit Man, z"l, who was killed by terrorists while she was caring for the wounded in Be'eri, and her father Hezroni, z"l, who was shot by terrorists in Be'eri. In addition, four MDA employees and volunteers were injured.
