Netanyahu reacts to Amsterdam attacks

Netanyahu: "The difficult images of the attack on our citizens will not go unnoticed"

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the lynching of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans by hundreds of Arab rioters and instructed to send two rescue planes to the Netherlands. Minister Ben Gvir: "Those who turn a blind eye to Islamic terrorism in the Middle East will meet it at their doorstep."

Following the violent events in Amsterdam where Arab rioters lynched hundreds of Israelis, the Prime Minister's Office stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is involved in the details of the severe violent incident in Amsterdam against Israeli citizens, held a situational assessment with the Foreign Minister and his military secretary, and is receiving ongoing updates.

Additionally, Netanyahu instructed to immediately dispatch two rescue planes to assist our citizens. The disturbing images of the attack on our citizens in Amsterdam will not go unnoticed. "The Prime Minister views the horrific incident with great severity and demands that the Dutch government and Dutch security forces act decisively and swiftly against the perpetrators, and ensure the safety of our citizens," it was stated.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir: "I was in continuous contact throughout the night with the Foreign Minister, the Defense Minister, and the Israel Police, which is making continuous efforts with the Dutch police and relevant bodies to rescue the Israeli citizens and investigate the serious lynching incidents in the Netherlands."

Fans who simply went to watch a football match encountered antisemitism and were brutally attacked just because of their Jewish and Israeli identity. I condemn any attempt to blame the victim.

According to him, "This is not only an attack on Jews and Israelis, but a warning sign for all European countries against radical Muslim violence. Those who turn a blind eye to Islamic terrorism in the Middle East will encounter it at home in Europe and the West. Today the victims were Israelis, tomorrow it will be you Europeans."
