Well, That Was Obvious

Report: Hamas found the body of Mohammad Deif and gave him a secret burial. Here's why

According to Palestinian sources speaking to Israeli media, the terrorist organization tried to conceal the death of the arch-terrorist, whom the IDF had confirmed killed three weeks after the strike against him.

Palestinian sources speaking to Kann News said that Hamas found the body of arch-Hamas terrorist Mohammad Deif and buried him in a secret funeral, while continuing to deny that he was dead.

The source said that Hamas concealed the death of Deif for two reasons. First, they do not want the IDF to take his body and use it as a bargaining chip in a hostage deal, as they have done with the body of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. Second, they fear that confirmation of the death of the veteran leader would break the morale of the terrorist organization.

Deif was one of the veteran Hamas senior commanders responsible for planning and carrying out multiple terrorist attacks, including the October 7 massacre.

After several failed attempts on his life, the IDF finally eliminated him in a major strike on July 13, 2024 and confirmed his death three weeks after the strike.
