Border Police soldiers surrounding Jerusalem at the Tunnel Crossing today (Thursday), carried out a search on a public bus line that was on its way to Jerusalem. During the search, the soldiers noticed a man wearing a kippah on his head that aroused their suspicion.

In an examination carried out by the soldiers, it was understood that the suspect was not ultra-Orthodox, but rather an illegal resident of the State of Israel, a resident of Hebron who intended to come to Jerusalem. The suspect, in his 30s, was detained for further interrogation by the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Border Police Surrounding Jerusalem, and was remanded in custody until Sunday.

Border Police fighters will continue to act decisively to prevent the infiltration of illegal aliens and to maintain the security of the country's citizens, as part of the national 'Emergency Containment' operation.
