The IDF has released the names of three soldiers killed during operations in northern Gaza. All three were members of the Givati Brigade's Shaked Battalion.

Staff Sergeant Ido Zano, 20, a combat medic from Yehud-Monosson, Staff Sergeant Barak Daniel Halpern, 19, a squad commander from Kiryat Ono, and Sergeant Omri Cohen, 19, a combat soldier from Ashdod, fell in battle during the same incident.

According to journalist Doron Kadosh, the attack occurred early morning as troops were boarding a truck to leave Gaza for a scheduled rest period. An enemy squad targeted them with anti-tank weapons, killing 3 and wounding 18 (2 seriously, 4 moderately, 12 lightly).

The vehicle was a new type of armored troop transport developed after October 7th for moving large numbers of soldiers in and out of Gaza.

As mentioned, two additional soldiers were severely wounded in the same operation - a Sky Rider Unit operator from the Artillery Corps and a Shaked Battalion reservist. Both have been evacuated to hospital and their families have been notified.

The IDF spokesperson's office confirmed that all families of the deceased have been notified prior to this announcement.

The Shaked Battalion, an infantry unit of the IDF, expressed its deep condolences to the families and loved ones of the fallen soldiers.
