French President Emmanuel Macron announced this evening that France “will recognize a Palestinian state.” Bold statement. One wonders, does he mean the same Palestinian state that beheads civilians in the streets of France, stabs people in the heart of Paris, and drives Jews from Marseille and the capital into relocation in Israel? Perhaps he’s referring to a Palestinian state in its “Inshallah, Islamic Republic” edition.
Let’s be serious for a moment. Maybe, just maybe, Macron isn’t really talking about the Middle East. Maybe he’s just proposing a solution to his own domestic problem. Because let’s face it: there’s a greater chance of seeing a Palestinian state emerge in Paris than in Israel.
The Data: France Is Changing, And Not for the Better
- Accelerated Islamization: According to INSEE (France’s national statistics agency), as of 2023, there are approximately 6.8 million Muslims in France, around 10% of the population. Their birth rate significantly exceeds the national average.
- Antisemitism at Record Highs: In 2023, the SPCJ recorded 1,676 antisemitic incidents in France, nearly four times the number in 2022 (436). In 2024, the number dipped slightly to 1,570, but remains at a historic high.
- No-Go Zones: In cities like Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, there are entire neighbourhoods known as zones de non-droit, areas the police simply avoid. Sharia law functions as the unofficial code in these zones.
- Inward Immigration, Outward Exodus: Tens of thousands of Jews have left France in recent decades. From 2000–2009 alone, over 13,000 made aliyah to Israel. In 2015, nearly 7,900 emigrated, the highest on record. Since the 1970s, tens of thousands more have followed, recognizing that history is repeating itself, only this time, there’s no General de Gaulle coming to the rescue.
The Hypocrisy: Macron Talks About Israel, So He Doesn’t Have to Talk About France
Because attacking Israel is easy. It’s far away, it’s small, and let’s be honest it’s Jewish. It’s a lot more convenient to pontificate about the Palestinian problem in Israel than to admit that the “Palestinian problem” is sitting inside Macron’s own interior ministry, school system, and the burning suburbs of the capital.
So Macron speaks of “two states.” Trouble is, in the streets of Paris, there already are two:
One French, liberal, dying. The other Salafist, antisemitic, and waiting for its moment.
A final note to President Macron: Perhaps go ahead and create a Palestinian state in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. Give it a budget, a flag, and a national anthem, just make sure the lyrics don’t include Allahu Akbar or Death to the Jews. Let’s see if you survive a single day in that state. Here in Israel, we already know how that movie ends.
